Easter Egg Baby Art
Oct 22, 2022Easter is going to look a lot different this year. In our part of the world we are in the middle of tight lock-down restrictions to stay safe durng the COVID-19 epidemic. Our version of staying indoors is pretty messy, with lots of bits and pieces unfinished and a table full of on-the-go creative projects! This Easter Egg themed paint-a-thon is still going on, we are going to try a whole collection of egg-y paintings ... but so far our little Baby Art attempt at an Easter egg has come out pretty eggcellent!

Food Dye + Water
What to do
Create a bubble wrap print on one piece of A3 paper. You can follow this great tutorial from First Palette.
Mix some DIY watercolour paint by adding drops of food dye to water. Use this to paint your second piece of paper in a contrasting colour.
Blu tack the bubble wrap print to your window or easel at standing height, ready for Mummy + baby to paint.
Squeeze three paint colours in a tray, these will be used to decorate your easter egg. Have a paintbrush handy, one for each colour, and some baby wipes.
Sitting with baby, cover their hand in one colour of paint at a time. Guide their hand horizontally across the bubble wrap print page. Have fun creating a pattern of colourful wiggly lines.
Once dry, trace an Easter egg shape on the back. Cut it out and glue to your other coloured background.
