School Art Exhibition
Oct 22, 2022The Collective Exhibition
The Collective exhibition was a night that celebrated the creative talents of students working in Art, Visual communication Design, Design and Technology and Media elective subjects at our highschool. The name Collective was inspired by the diverse and dynamic skill sets that are explored and developed through the Art and Design curriculum.A paper collage window display depicting a rainbow gradient of geometric coloured tiles set the scene of a bold, rich and memorable experience at the Collective Exhibition. Hidden behind this wall of colour hung pages from artist books, cascading down the display and illustrating the carefully created artworks from Year 7 students.Within the space a collaborative installation art piece created by Year 11 Visual Communication Design students was central to the exhibition. This installation laced the ceiling with cellular geometric forms and framed a landscape of hexagonal plinths below. Staggered in height, this arrangement of modular plinths set the scene encouraging captivation and drawing one in to take a closer look at the finer details of art and design works.Peering through a curtain of delicately hung paper prism artworks, walking between tunnels decorated with design work and touching printed textiles all contributed to the overwhelming truth that creativity reflects a tight combination exploration, intelligence and fun. Throughout the exhibition viewers did not just gaze upon the student work but rather passed through it, immersed in the experience of “seeing” through the five senses.
